== Early Life ==&lt;br /&gt;
He was likely born around 5 AD, in the city of Tarsus which is in modern day Turkey to a [[Judaism|Jewish]] family. This meant that not only was he raised as an observant Hebrew, but he was also a citizen of the [[Roman Empire]]. He eventually was sent to study the Jewish Law and became a student of the famous Rabbi [[Gamaliel]].&lt;br /&gt;
