Anglican Schools Association

The **Anglican Schools Association (ASA)** exists to support, network, and cultivate Anglican education throughout North America and beyond. Its mission is to strengthen Anglican schools by promoting classical education, spiritual formation, and the integration of faith and learning under ecclesial authority.

Mission & Vision

The ASA seeks to:

  • **Connect Anglican Schools** — forming a network of schools that share Anglican identity, liturgical life, and academic excellence.
  • **Extend Anglican Education** — assisting in the establishment of new schools and strengthening existing ones.
  • **Cultivate Anglican Faculty** — equipping teachers and leaders through training and shared resources.

Anglican education is understood as the harmonious union of worship, scholarship, and virtue—shaping students to love truth, beauty, and goodness within the life of the Church.

Features of Anglican Education

According to the ASA, Anglican schools are characterized by:

  • **Spiritual Formation** — daily prayer, chapel, and integration of Christian virtue throughout the curriculum.
  • **Ecclesial Oversight** — local parish or diocesan accountability, often with a rector or priest serving as headmaster or chaplain.
  • **Liberal Arts & Classical Curriculum** — a robust study of the trivium and quadrivium, rooted in the Western and Christian intellectual tradition.
  • **Teacher Formation** — emphasis on the moral and intellectual formation of teachers as models of wisdom and faith.
  • **Community Life** — cultivating joyful learning and service within parish and family contexts.
