Easter
Easter Day is the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after 21 March. The generator uses the Gregorian computus; its Easter dates for 2026-2035 are: 2026-04-05, 2027-03-28, 2028-04-16, 2029-04-01, 2030-04-21, 2031-04-13, 2032-03-28, 2033-04-17, 2034-04-09, 2035-03-25. These were checked against independently published Western Easter dates, not against the generator's own output alone.
Advent
The First Sunday in Advent is the Sunday falling 27 November to 3 December (the Sunday nearest 30 November).
Epiphany and Trinity numbering
Sundays after Epiphany are numbered from the first Sunday after 6 January; the Prayer Book provides Epiphany 1-6. Trinity Sunday is the Sunday after Whitsunday; Sundays after Trinity are numbered from the Sunday after Trinity Sunday; the Prayer Book provides Trinity 1-24, plus the Sunday next before Advent as the last Sunday before Advent 1. For years with more Sundays after Trinity, the Trinity 24 rubric applies (text layer, pending scan confirmation): 2027, 2029, and 2032 use the Epiphany 6 service on the Twenty-fifth Sunday after Trinity; 2035 uses Epiphany 5 on the Twenty-fifth and Epiphany 6 on the Twenty-sixth. Whether the Sunday next before Advent replaces the last numbered Trinity Sunday in every year, or only when the count would exceed 24, is still unresolved and is flagged as such.
Ember and Rogation Days
Ember Days are Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday after the First Sunday in Lent, after Whitsunday, after Holy Cross Day (14 September), and after St Lucy's Day (13 December). Rogation Days are the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before Ascension Day.
Fasting and abstinence
The Table of Fasts gives Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, the Forty Days of Lent, the Ember Days, and all Fridays in the year, except Christmas Day, the Epiphany, or any Friday intervening between those feasts (Fridays 26 December-5 January). The full table of vigils, and the rules for collect continuations beyond the Sunday rule below, are not yet extracted and are listed as unresolved.
Precedence and transfers
Two precedence tables are extracted from the Calendar PDF prose (cross-checked against AnglicanWiki quoted tables; not yet scan-verified). First-table days have precedence of any other Sunday or Holy Day: Sundays in Advent, all days of Holy Week, Christmas Day, Easter Day and the seven following days, the Epiphany, Rogation Sunday, Septuagesima, Ascension Day and the Sunday after Ascension, Sexagesima, Whitsunday and the six following days, Quinquagesima, Ash Wednesday, Trinity Sunday, and Sundays in Lent. A holy day falling on a first-table day is transferred to the first convenient open day; this planner records the transfer but does not assert the date, which is a parish/minister decision. In 2026-2035 there are 10 such transfers, including the Annunciation on Palm Sunday 2029-03-25 and on Easter Day 2035-03-25, St Barnabas on Trinity Sunday 2028-06-11, St Andrew on Advent 1 2031-11-30, and St Matthias on Sexagesima 2030-02-24.
Second-table holy days (apostles and evangelists, All Saints, the Transfiguration, the Circumcision, St Michael, and the other feasts listed in the data) have precedence of days not in the first table. On an ordinary Sunday, the feast Collect, Epistle, and Gospel are used, followed by the Collect for the Sunday. That is how this planner treats, for example, All Saints on the Twenty-second Sunday after Trinity, 2026-11-01: the All Saints proper is principal, with the Trinity 22 collect following. The definition of "first convenient open day" and the interaction of the Sunday next before Advent with the Trinity 24 rubric remain unresolved.
Eves
An eve marks the evening before a feast. It does not by itself change the psalms, lessons, or collects of Evening Prayer; only the lectionary table's eve appointment does that.
