Research note

Research date: 24 October 2026. Galatians 3–4 and 1 Corinthians 7 and 11–12 were inspected in the KJV. S. Lewis Johnson Jr.’s chapter “Role Distinctions in the Church (Galatians 3:28)” was inspected in its Bible.org reproduction as a traditionalist interpretation. Caroline Schleier Cutler’s “New Creation and Inheritance” was inspected on the CBE site as an opposing academic argument about the communal consequences of baptism and inheritance. The latter was inspected through the browser/search tool because the local retrieval returned a server refusal. The article’s representation of the Galatians 2 argument is explicitly attributed to Cutler; it does not claim a fresh study of every work in her bibliography. Articles XX and Vincent’s Commonitorium 2 and 23 were already directly inspected for this series.

Editorial note

The draft makes no claim that baptismal equality alone settles office eligibility. It likewise does not use differentiated gifts as proof of a sex-specific rule. A wider survey of specialist Galatians commentaries would enrich a subsequent revision; only inspected texts are cited here. Historical comments cited in Johnson’s survey are not independently adopted as evidence of a complete patristic consensus. No demographic, institutional decline, or current jurisdictional claim is made.
